Another Day, Same Story by Raymond Castillo ('22)

All my days are the same story, a story with the same beginnings, middles, and ends. When I wake up every morning, I stretch myself while walking down to the bathroom on a brown rug floor. Once in the bathroom, I turn on the shower and let it run until it is warm enough to get in. I brush my teeth, get out of the shower, and get dressed. That’s when the middle part of my day starts. During the middle part of my days, I always encounter the same conflicts. Walking my way down to the train station, I stop by the MTA vending machines inside the station. As I try to add money to my metrocard, the MTA machine gets jammed. I move on to the station agent and as I wait on line to try again to add money to my metrocard, I miss the train. Besides struggling during my long commute on the train, I have to rush to class as soon as I arrive at the station. Some classes are cold, some classes are hot, some classes are short and some are extremely long. After a long day of two classes and work, I head back home to take a shower, eat dinner, get some sleep so I can wake up to make another story.
