"The Curse of Amatsu-Mikaboshi" by Digna Estrella ('18)

While I was singing this song to my child;
Something ghostly happened to my child. The child that was full with tenderness, joy and beauty now looks like corpse with worms coming out of his mouth.

I screamed at this horrendous sight,

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What had just happened to my child! Am I day dreaming!

Wake up my Oji!

Everything was unreal, his body was stiff and pale and cold as ice. He looked like Yuki- Onna (The snow woman Yokai)

Oh my god I shouted in Japanese “Waga Kamiyo!”

Why do I have to carry the curse of Amatsu- Mikaboshi (the god of evil)?

Why do you hate me so much? Why can’t I have another child?

Amatsu Kamiyo possess the child,

Through his decaying body, he spoke through the child’s mouth.

“Sakura! Every child that you have, I would eat every part of their soul! You are curse for the rest of your life! You cannot be happy because you refuse to marry me!

I screamed again,

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, please god help me! Help my child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The child started to eat his own legs and arms,

I couldn’t bare this bloody sight

I tried to stop him desperately, but I was weak, after 100 years giving birth, all my child had been dead by this monster.

I tried to escape, with blood on my kimono, but he caught me!

Ahhhhhhhh!  Someone help me! He strip me naked,

Sakura was left alone, in an abyss, trying to fight her way home.
