Join us for a special two-part workshop with Kelly Castagnaro, the Special Advisor for Rights and Justice at Planned Parenthood International. Kelly has years of experience working in the social justice realm. She has worked in particular with women and girls in Latin America and the Caribbean, and much of her work has focused on healing through art, as well as the intersectionality of race, trauma, domestic violence, inequity. She is also a writer, and graduated from the SJC Creative Writing MFA program. During the first workshop on March 11, Kelly will speak about her experience with activism and social justice, and how she has woven creative writing into these pursuits. Attendees will then have the opportunity to do their own writing on their experiences with social justice (and injustice) in their own lives, based on a prompt. During the second workshop on March 18, we will share those writings and open it up to anyone who wishes to share work centered around these topics. Come to both workshops, or just the first, or the second!
